The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) compiles economic data broken down specifically into region, state and local area. Data compiled includes:
- Employment and unemployment numbers
- Consumer price indexes, consumer spending and average energy prices
- Pay and benefits
- Workplace fatalities and workplace injuries & illnesses
The BLS resources include two-page economic summaries for the various local areas within a state. Contractors can leverage these existing resources to learn the latest on local economic factors affecting their businesses.
