FCA Remembers Jerry Haber: A Leader, Colleague and Friend
It is with great sadness that, on behalf of myself and the entire FCA International Board of Directors, we recognize the passing of our long-time Board member, industry leader, and friend, Jerry Haber.
Jerry dedicated a significant part of his career to serving the finishing industry, both locally through his contractor association and nationally through FCA International. He understood the importance of contractors being involved, having a voice, and working together to strengthen our industry.
Jerry also served as Management Co-Chair of the International Painters and Allied Trades Industry Pension Fund, where he earned the respect of representatives from both labor and management. Jerry understood that leadership was not simply about representing one side of the table. It was about listening, understanding the issues, finding common ground when possible, and working to move things forward.
Those qualities made Jerry an invaluable member of the FCA Board and a trusted voice throughout our industry.
But for those of us who were fortunate enough to know Jerry personally, his impact went well beyond the positions he held.
If you had a friend in Jerry, you knew you had a friend who had your back.
He brought experience, common sense, loyalty, and a deep knowledge of our industry to every conversation. You could count on Jerry to share his perspective, ask the right questions, and help find a path forward when the issues were difficult.
Jerry believed in this industry and in the value of contractors working together. He gave his time and knowledge because he understood that involvement matters, not only for his own company or local market, but for contractors and our industry across the country.
His passing leaves a tremendous void. We will miss Jerry’s knowledge and insight, but we will also miss his friendship, his presence around the table, and his ability to help move important issues forward.
On behalf of the FCA International Board of Directors and our entire organization, I want to express our sincere condolences to Jerry’s family, friends, colleagues, and everyone throughout the industry who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
We are grateful for Jerry’s many years of service, leadership, and commitment to FCA and to the entire finishing industry.
Jerry will be greatly missed, but his contributions and the relationships he built will not be forgotten.
