FCA International submitted comments on OSHA’s “Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking regarding Blood Lead Levels for Medical Removal” on Friday, Oct. 28. The comments were put together by the Industrial Coating Contractors task group and subject matter experts.
In short, FCA Contractors believe worker safety would be better advanced through more robust enforcement of existing lead standards. FCA Contractors also believe that OSHA needs to justify any proposed revisions to the medical removal and return-to-work BLLs based on established science and agreed-upon significant risk associated with these levels.
Thank you to the participants of the task group who helped ensure decision makers in Washington, D.C. understood signatory contractors’ perspective as they consider this proposed rule.
