Connecting with IUPAT Industry Leadership 

As a follow-up to Labor-Management Day at the Signatory Contractors Conference (SCC), one message came through clearly from both contractors and International leadership, there is a shared interest in improving communication across the industry.

With leadership from the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades actively engaged in those discussions, contractors expressed the need for greater clarity on who to contact within the leadership structure.

In response, FCA International is providing this resource to support that objective, ensuring contractors have a clear understanding of key leadership contacts, their roles, and how engaging the right individuals at the right time can positively impact your business and labor-management relationships. These are the people we need to provide their position, overall responsibility along with office number and email for contact.

Shane Smith joined DC 88/LU 1778 (Houston) in 2003, in August 2023, the General Executive Board appointed him General Vice President for Organizing
apprentice before joining the Marines in 2004.

Charlie joined the IUPAT in August of 1986 and worked in the field as a paperhanger. In 2022 he was appointed General Vice President of the IUPAT and trustee to the Industry Pension Fund, iFTI and LMCI.

Mike Gutierrez joined District Council 36/Local Union 52 (Bakersfield, California) in 1998, he became General Vice President of the Western Region effective January 1, 2022.
