The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) and the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA) have announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlining a strategic partnership between the two organizations. The agreement addresses collaboration in areas including organizing, collective bargaining, political advocacy, contractor outreach, and member education.
Following questions from contractors regarding the announcement, Chris Scheiblein of the IUPAT stated: “This is not a merger. We remain independent and autonomous, yet united in this growth strategy to reverse declining market share.”
