As of Oct. 11, 2022, Ontario employers with 25 or more employees are required to have an electronic workplace monitoring policy in place at their company. FCA legal counsel prepared a template policy for signatory contractors to leverage. The language used in the policy is also a valuable reference point for contractors in other areas considering implementing a similar policy.
Moving forward, the requirement will extend to every Ontario employer who meets the 25+ employee threshold on January 1 of each year, and the policy must be in place before March 1.
